The OCR8 remote and PolarPilot™ app
The optionally available OCR8 remote control, and the PolarPilot™ App for iOS™ or Android™ allows you to control your OC818 wirelessly from your smart device* over Bluetooth®. Craft 255 discrete polar patterns and also have real-time, wireless control over your analogue high pass filters and pad. The handy last 60 seconds of audio level monitor/logger enables you to see if there is any clipping so you can adjust on the fly. The OC818 ships with one programmable location, which you can store 1 of your preferred settings for later use without the PolarPilot app.

The OC818 PolarDesigner Plugin
Recording to your DAW using both outputs of the OC818 enables the use of the PolarDesigner DAW-Plugin in post production. Craft different polar pattern responses across 1 to 5 crossover bands. Phase Linear and Synch-Channel. Use Terminator Ai for eliminating or rescuing selected frequencies and instruments. Available for free download available free from http://austrian.audio/OC818. The OC818 AmbiCreator Plugin
As you know, all OC818 microphones are calibrated to have the exact same sensitivity, which makes them ideal for stereo recordings. With our PolarDesigner plug-in, you can even experiment with different polar patterns in post-production to find the best stereo setup for your recording. With our AmbiCreator plugin we go one step further—getting an ambisonic B-format signal out of two OC818 microphones, e.g. a “Live-Set”. As the OC818 microphones have a dual output, we can calculate any first-order pattern from those two outputs.
The OC818 StereoCreator Plugin
Since the beginning, musicians, composers, and engineers have used the OC818 for stereo recording. You can use just one OC818 in Dual Mode, or put a second mic on top. Then, by using the StereoCreator plugin, you can choose between various stereo recording techniques such as X/Y, M/S, or Blumlein.
